The Legacy
From pots and pans to the rhythm in his hands. James J. Smalls Sr. created the beat of his heart, through his passion for music. He extended his love to each of his offspring, teaching them the gift of song and expression through sound. Giving his gift of sound back to the one who gave it, James Sr. applied his Faith and Love for the Lord to produce pure sounds and harmonies of worship and praise. He shared the love of Christ with all those connected to him, and had a passion to testify the goodness, grace and mercy of Jesus.
He lives through his family and loved ones, building a legacy of God-fearing musicians and artists, to succeed what he has started, for generations to come.
The Mission
A call that was inevitable. Music: The expression of emotions through sound, combined in such a way to produce beauty of form, harmony. Throughout my lineage of relatives, music has been a dominant influence. My father, whom I've succeeded in name, always had a beat going. Witnessing his love for creating and embracing the craft of music, birthed my passion at a very young age. I began to pick up the sticks, expressing and creating my own sound. Now, as my father has transitioned, the beat goes on through me.
I mission to assist others in their love for the beauty of music. Through lessons, rental and audio engineering, I am helping to create, enhance, and produce sound quality. I aim to provide excellence, integrity and mentorship to whomever I am blessed to serve.
